About

The Founder

Jackie never saw herself as an artist—not at first. Creativity was a blind spot, something she didn’t realize she needed until it quietly revealed itself over time. What she did always know was that she was deeply introspective, drawn to a wide range of disciplines, modalities, and spiritual traditions that helped her understand the human experience from the inside out.

A child of immigrants and a product of the richly diverse neighborhoods of metro North Jersey, Jackie’s life has been shaped by layered identities and lived experiences. She brings the lens of a former career in public health and a second in mental health, along with extensive training outside of traditional psychotherapy—including Reiki, ancestral medicine, SoulCollage®, spiritual direction, and other forms of energy and expressive healing.

Through these pathways, Jackie became passionate about creating a space where others could reconnect with their own inner wisdom, break free from inherited beliefs or trauma that no longer serve them, and rediscover parts of themselves they may have hidden or forgotten—including their creativity.

She founded the center with the vision of building a modern-day "healing and learning gym"—a third space outside of therapy and church—where people could come not only to heal, but to grow, study, create, and be in community. A place that honors spirituality, ancestral wisdom, and the full spectrum of human experience. Her hope is to help people remember: you already carry wisdom within—you just need a safe and sacred place to reconnect with it.

In addition to founding this center, Jackie maintains a private therapy practice specializing in trauma, spirituality, and holistic, integrative care. Learn more or book a session at www.kaluluwacounseling.com.

In the future, Jackie plans to grow the center into a hub for healing and learning by hosting a community database of trusted therapists, healers, and creative practitioners—making it easier for people to find compassionate and skilled support in one welcoming place.

She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, daughter, and dog.
